Ariana McAuley, PMP, MA

Ariana is deeply committed to changing perceptions and providing opportunities for Black Americans, particularly through the transformative experience of living, studying, and traveling abroad.  

 Ariana has been to over 40 countries and more than 100 cities, allowing her to immerse herself in diverse cultures and foster a profound appreciation for the richness of our global community. Having spent almost four years living, studying, and working in France, Ariana has personally witnessed the life-altering impact of international experiences. During her time in France that she longed for a program like the one that has been created—a program that eases the financial burden and opens doors for Black Americans to explore the world. 

 Ariana firmly believes that living and studying abroad is not just an educational opportunity but a transformative life experience. It fosters cross-cultural understanding, breaks down stereotypes, and fosters empathy. By facilitating access to these experiences, we can change the way foreigners perceive Americans, particularly black Americans, and contribute to a more connected and harmonious world.  

 Ariana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from East Carolina University and a double Masters of Arts degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Adame Francis

Adame strongly believes that the opportunity to experience other cultures is important for both personal and professional growth and development. In our internationally connected world individuals with the opportunity to grow and learn of other cultures different of their own are better prepared to compete in the marketplace of ideas. 

He has fortunately had the opportunity to study for an extended period of time in France. This opportunity allowed him to become fluent in the French language, build a network of colleagues, and learn to orient himself as a citizen of the world.  

 Adame works in technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) with a mind for maintaining and increasing the security posture of projects in scope and is a Co-Founding member of Uncommonwealth Properties, LLC. 

Adame holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science – International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a K. Leroy Irvis Fellow with a Master’s Degree in Public and International Affairs from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh (GSPIA).  

Cecilia Caron, MBA

Cecilia is a dedicated professional in the realm of digital marketing and brings a wealth of experience to the table as a member of the ACM selection committee. Her journey began with a Bachelor of Business Administration and culminated in a Master of Business Administration in International Business. Having once studied abroad in Paris, she fell in love with the rich tapestry of global cultures, ultimately making France her permanent home. 

 In her role as a Digital Marketing Manager, she orchestrates impactful campaigns, masterfully navigating the intricacies of lead generation and nurturing. Her commitment to diversity is deeply rooted, recognizing the transformative power of international education for Black students. Through her experiences, she advocates for the importance of embracing diverse perspectives and fostering educational opportunities that transcend borders. 

Grifin Hill - Ruda

Grifin is a global citizen with a passion for fostering international perspectives, he is an Operations Analyst based in Stockholm and a proud member of the ACM selection committee. His transformative journey spans continents—from studying in the vibrant cities of Paris and Madrid to living and working in the dynamic landscapes of NYC, Washington DC, Costa Rica, and Finland. He has a Bachelors in International Business and a Master of Science in Finance from Georgetown University, his career currently revolves around bidding and operations in the Nordic region. 

 Living, studying, and working abroad have been the catalysts for his personal and professional growth, reinforcing the importance of embracing diverse cultures. As an advocate for educational opportunities, he believe Black students thriving abroad contribute not only to their individual success but also to the broader enrichment of global perspectives. 

Patsy M. Polston, PhD, MSPH

Patsy brings a unique blend of global experience and academic expertise. Having worked abroad in Paris, she emerged with a transformed worldview, fostering a broader perspective that proved instrumental in her career acceleration. Currently serving as Adjunct Faculty in Academic Affairs and the Department of Health Behavior at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health, Patsy holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, complemented by a Masters and PhD in Public Health. 

Drawing from her own impactful journey, Patsy advocates for the significance of working, studying, and traveling abroad. She believes these experiences not only enhance individual growth but also play a crucial role in cultivating diversity and representation, underscoring the importance of Black students thriving in international settings.
