Seoul Beauty Travel Week 2025: Where Tradition, Innovation, and Wellness Meet

Every fall, Seoul transforms into something extraordinary. Beauty becomes more than skincare or makeup; it becomes a lifestyle, an art form, and a philosophy. From October 30 to November 5, Seoul Beauty Travel Week invites travelers from around the world to discover how Korea’s capital has mastered the art of feeling good inside and out.

Now in its fourth year, the event embodies Seoul’s vision of “A Healthy and Beautiful Daily Life.” Blending centuries-old traditions with modern cosmetic science, this weeklong celebration reveals the heartbeat of K-beauty. It’s not found on a shelf but in motion, through the rhythm of city life.

The Heart of Korean Beauty

Seoul has always been a city of contrasts. Ancient hanok rooftops rise behind sleek glass towers, and herbal medicine clinics sit beside high-end spas. Seoul Beauty Travel Week captures that duality through three experiential themes that define the city’s holistic take on beauty.

Rested (쉼): Seoul’s beauty begins with stillness. From meditation sessions in mountain temples to herbal therapy rooted in hanbang (traditional Korean medicine), travelers can experience what balance truly feels like. A highlight is the serene Namsangol Hanok Village, where ancient courtyards invite visitors to slow down and reconnect.

Refreshed (맛): In Seoul, wellness is also something you taste. The city’s beauty cuisine philosophy infuses age-old recipes with modern nutrition—fermented kimchi rich in antioxidants, collagen-packed bone broths, and seasonal teas that nourish the skin. Restaurants like Furoa Seoul in Myeongdong reinterpret these traditions for today’s traveler, proving that beauty truly starts from within.

Rejuvenated (멋): Beyond skincare counters and spa menus, Seoul becomes a creative playground for beauty enthusiasts. K-beauty culture comes alive at flagship stores, artful pop-ups, and rooftop venues like L7 Myeongdong by Lotte, where beauty innovation meets street culture under glowing city lights.

BeautyHouse at Namsangol Hanok Village

The soul of Seoul Beauty Travel Week lies within Namsangol Hanok Village, the event’s main venue and cultural anchor. For two days, November 1 and 2, this historic site transforms into BeautyHouse—a living showcase of Korean beauty traditions and modern innovation.

Here, guests can join skincare workshops inspired by royal court rituals, watch live demonstrations of hanbang treatments, and meet Korea’s leading aestheticians and innovators. Between sessions, traditional performances fill the courtyard, reminding visitors that beauty in Seoul has always been connected to art, movement, and ceremony.

“Namsangol represents the soul of Seoul’s beauty philosophy,” says Jong-won Koo, Director of the Seoul Tourism and Sports Bureau. “It’s where 500 years of Korean wisdom meets 21st-century creativity.”

A City Shaped by Wellness

Seoul’s beauty identity isn’t limited to its skincare brands; it’s woven into the city itself. The 2025 edition focuses on the Jung-gu district, the historic heart of Seoul where past and present coexist in harmony.

Visitors can explore Myeongdong’s buzzing beauty boutiques, wander Namdaemun Market for herbal ingredients, or admire the architectural brilliance of Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Each neighborhood offers a new lens on the city’s beauty evolution.

Beyond the skyline, the pace of life feels restorative. There is a balance between indulgence and mindfulness, science and spirituality, innovation and history.

The Global Face of K-Beauty

Over the past decade, Korean beauty has evolved from a trend into a global movement. It now champions clean ingredients, sustainable packaging, and accessible luxury. Today, Seoul stands at the center of that transformation—not just as a producer of products but as a curator of culture.

Brands like Amorepacific and THE WHOO have built empires that blend tradition with technology. Meanwhile, the city has become a living showroom for wellness tourism. Seoul Beauty Travel Week brings these ideas together, allowing travelers to see, touch, and live the culture that has redefined beauty standards worldwide.

The Cultural Glow of the K-Wave

K-beauty is inseparable from the Korean Wave. From the glowing skin of K-drama stars to the bold aesthetics of K-pop idols, the world has fallen in love with the Seoul look—polished yet effortless, refined yet expressive.

During the week, curated experiences highlight this global influence. Expect pop-up exhibits featuring celebrity skincare routines, male grooming workshops, and beauty-tech showcases powered by AI. Every corner reflects Seoul’s ability to merge pop culture with authenticity. What began as a local trend has become an international lifestyle.

Beauty with a Conscience

Seoul Beauty Travel Week also emphasizes sustainability and clean beauty. The city’s top brands are leading the charge with refillable packaging, vegan formulations, and carbon-neutral production. These practices reflect Seoul’s broader wellness philosophy: beauty that is responsible, inclusive, and mindful of the planet.

This year’s event will follow a zero-waste policy. Digital guides will replace printed programs, and visitors who use public transport will receive eco-friendly incentives. It’s a forward-thinking approach that mirrors Seoul’s commitment to a sustainable future.

Seoul’s Beauty Vision

As the global wellness economy grows toward $7 trillion, Seoul is positioning itself as both a beauty capital and a hub for holistic travel. Plans are already underway to expand Seoul Beauty Travel Week into year-round experiences, including virtual previews, university collaborations, and medical wellness programs.

“When visitors come to Seoul Beauty Travel Week, they’re not just observing Korean beauty culture—they’re living it,” says Han I-kyung, Chair of the Beauty & Wellness Tourism Development Committee. “It’s about finding beauty in the way Koreans eat, heal, and connect. It’s a way of life.”
