Top 5 Easiest Countries for Americans to Move To

Here at the Beyond Borders blog, we enjoy discussing the benefits and challenges of living abroad. So, if we’ve got you wondering about this experience but are unsure where to start, here are five countries that offer smooth transitions for Americans.

1. Canada

For many, our neighbor to the north is the first choice for relocation. Canada is similar to the United States in culture, language, and lifestyle. It also offers various options for landscape from cities to mountains to coastal. One of the easiest methods to immigrate to Canada is by being a skilled worker through its Express Entry system. 2. Mexico

Similar to Canada, our southern neighbor, Mexico, is one of the first choices for relocation. The lower cost of living and relative all-over warm climate makes it an attractive option for many Americans, especially those who live in colder states. Americans can stay in Mexico as tourists for up to 180 days without a visa. However, if you desire a longer stay, look into obtaining a FM3, Temporary Resident, or Permanent Resident visa. Each one of those visas allows for you to stay in Mexico for various amounts, all longer than 180 days, and require different proofs of finances. To learn more about the differences between these three visas or other types of visas, visit the Mexican government’s website here

These countries offer relatively easy paths for Americans to relocate. However, it’s important to note that immigration laws can change. Other factors, such as healthcare, should also be considered when choosing a country. Additionally, all Americans citizens must file a U.S. income tax return regardless of the currency. Therefore, picking a new country to move to is a significant decision requiring careful planning and consideration. If you need any help navigating this process, Ariventures is here for you.
