- travel scary (noun)
- An experience or situation encountered during travel that induces fear, anxiety, or discomfort due to potential risks, unfamiliar environments, or unsettling circumstances.
- Most people have either heard or personally experienced a travel scary before. In the moment, they can be quite stressful. They’re typically unprecedented experiences that occur at inconvenient times, hence the scary. But we can overcome difficult cry-inducing obstacles. These are three things to take away from my travel scary in June 2024.
- Traveling can be exhilarating, but it comes with its own set of challenges. To ensure your trip goes off without a hitch, keep these key tips in mind, inspired by Britney’s recent #travelscary through Miami International Airport:
- Have Extra Money on Hand: Britney discovered that airlines often don’t cover accommodation costs during inclement weather delays. It’s wise to have extra cash or a credit card ready for unexpected expenses.
- Factor in the Season: If you’re traveling during hurricane season to a tropical destination, like Britney was, always have a backup plan. Be prepared for possible flight cancellations and have alternatives in place.
- Use the Airline’s App: Instead of waiting in long lines, Britney found that checking the airline’s app first was much more efficient. You’re more likely to rebook your flight or find updated information quickly through the app.
- By following these tips, you’ll be better prepared for any unexpected travel mishaps and can enjoy your trip with greater peace of mind.
