travel scary (noun)
An experience or situation encountered during travel that induces fear, anxiety, or discomfort due to potential risks, unfamiliar environments, or unsettling circumstances.
Most people have either heard or personally experienced a travel scary before. In the moment, they can be quite stressful. They’re typically unprecedented experiences that occur at inconvenient times, hence the scary. But we can overcome difficult cry-inducing obstacles. These are three things to take away from my travel scary in July 2023.
Understand Local Liquids Regulations: Different regions have varying rules for carrying liquids through security. What’s acceptable in the US might not be in Europe. Always familiarize yourself with the local regulations to avoid unexpected hassles.
Pack Liquids Properly: To comply with international rules, keep your liquids in a clear, resealable plastic bag. This can save you time and stress during security checks, avoiding the need to repack or check your bag unexpectedly.
Plan for Security Delays: Be prepared for additional security procedures if your liquids aren’t compliant. Allocate extra time in your travel schedule for potential delays at security checkpoints to ensure a smoother experience.
