Ariventures Abroad is proud to announce the selection of our 2025–2026 Ambrose Conrad McAuley (ACM) Fellows. This fellowship supports Black American graduate students pursuing international education by providing financial support, mentorship, and community. We are excited to introduce two outstanding scholars whose work and vision embody the mission of the ACM Fellowship.

Meet Lauren Ross – Cairo, Egypt
Lauren Ross is pursuing her Master of Arts in Security Policy Studies at George Washington University with a concentration in Middle East conflict resolution. She is currently studying at the American University in Cairo through a GW exchange program. Her research focuses on displaced persons, peacebuilding, and international security with a particular interest in conflict resolution across the Middle East.
Lauren’s passion for cross-cultural engagement and her dedication to global security make her an invaluable addition to the ACM Fellowship community. Her academic and professional journey reflects the power of international education to build understanding and shape future leaders.

Meet Mykia Washington – San José, Costa Rica
Mykia Washington is pursuing her Master of Arts in Indigenous Science and Peace Studies at the University for Peace in Costa Rica. Her research and coursework focus on environmental sustainability, natural resource management, and building sustainable solutions to global challenges.
By engaging with diverse perspectives and international frameworks, Mykia is committed to advancing sustainable development policies that create lasting impact across communities worldwide. Her academic journey highlights the importance of international education in addressing urgent global challenges.
About the ACM Fellowship
The Ambrose Conrad McAuley (ACM) Fellowship is a program of Ariventures Abroad dedicated to supporting Black American graduate students who choose to pursue international study. Fellows receive up to $2,000 in funding, one-on-one mentorship, participation in our annual workshop retreat, and access to a lifelong network of peers and alumni.
The ACM Fellowship continues to grow each year, providing a platform for underrepresented students to access global opportunities and build leadership skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
