Takeaways from Jade & Ashley’s Travel Scary Part 2

  • travel scary (noun)
  • An experience or situation encountered during travel that induces fear, anxiety, or discomfort due to potential risks, unfamiliar environments, or unsettling circumstances.
  • Most people have either heard or personally experienced a travel scary before. In the moment, they can be quite stressful. They’re typically unprecedented experiences that occur at inconvenient times, hence the scary. But we can overcome difficult cry-inducing obstacles. These are three things to take away from this travel scary in May 2024.
  • Changes in our travel plans can bring surprises at the most unexpected times. Whether it’s a delay, a seat swap, or misplacing our most valuable items, these moments can challenge us. But do not fret- here are some ways to navigate these situations, inspired by our friends Ashley and Jade!
  • Do not be shy! Communicating your needs is essential. Jade was already stressed from the initial onboarding process, so dropping her AirPods could not have come at a worse time. Having her AirPods would have provided the perfect distraction on the lengthy flight, allowing her to watch her show and relax. Speaking up can often lead to solutions like receiving assistance from the flight crew retrieving her items. Travel can be chaotic, but expressing yourself can help ensure you have a smoother experience. Always ask for the help if you need it.
  • Packing lightly ensures you have less to worry about when navigating the seat change. With fewer bags, you can move freely move freely without the pressure of rushing. Traveling light also allows you to adapt to last minute changes easily.
  • Lastly, always double check your important documents. Take a minute to verify that you have your passport, tickets and any other important documents needed for traveling to your destinations. Forgetting them can lead to serious consequences such as being stuck in a holding area for multiple hours!
  • There is always a possibility of facing stress during your travels. However, we can minimize these stressors by traveling light, communicating our needs, and verifying you have your most important documents.  Staying prepared helps pave the way for a smoother journey and safe travels!
